Wayyy up

Let's just get right to it: this painting is about some of the feelings that can come when smoking a blunt. I got the idea after seeing a smokey universe somewhere. I guess I thought of the blunt because that was my first source of smoking and, to me, it correlated with the universe in a couple different ways. When I'm high, sometimes I feel like I'm floating through the universe; sometimes I'm diving into the universe. Those that get it, get it.

At first, there wasn't going to be any background. Just the blunt and the universe portal. I decided to add the hand to give those trippy vibes and towards the end I realized I didn't like the plain, white background. Of course, I thought of clouds because of the connotation of being up in the sky, wayyy up.
